Persian Bakhtiari Gabbeh Rug
Description
A Mid-20th century Bakhtiari, Gabbeh Rug.
This mid-20th century Bakhtiari Gabbeh Rug is made of strong and sturdy wool. These carpets are named after the nomads of the Bakhtiari tribe, who live in the Zagros mountains. They are knotted from thick wool, and motifs are inspired by gardens. The so-called Chesti pattern features designs with plants and animals from nature, typically representative of Persian gardens. From time to time one also finds carpets of the Bakhtiari, whose patterns resemble those of the nearby Isfahan region.
This exquisite handmade Gabbeh rug is sure to add an exotic vintage essence to your home.
