This exotic late 19th century Mir rug originates from the Arak province of Western Persia. They used to be referred to as 'Saraband' rugs in the 19th and 20th centuries. Mir rugs are woven with the highest quality of wool which is hand-knotted onto cotton warp strings. As a result, the rugs have a beautiful sheen and are extremely soft to the touch. This alluring piece depicts geometric patterns of various colours to bliss the eye.
